Author (Pregnant)

Once a woman is showing her pregnant belly she often finds that she is no longer a person in her own right.  She may be overlooked in conversation or have conversations solely about her pregnancy.  And finds herself feeling boxed into a stereotype that is both demeaning and frightening.

In this painting, we have an author.  But she could be a lieutenant, a coach, a physicist ….. yet how is she seen in society eight months pregnant?
